This past Saturday, senior Braeden Mitchell was invited to attend the Beaver County Hall of Fame Dinner where he received the Beaver County YMCA Scholarship awarded to one student from Beaver County for his/her hard work in the classroom and in athletics. Congratulations Braeden!

Earlier this week, Mr. Dave Blair visited our Principles of Engineering class to share the story behind his impressive Net Zero Home—and the timing couldn’t have been better, as students just began their unit on Energy Sources! Mr. Blair’s home achieved an exceptional HERS score of 3, thanks to his thoughtful and innovative design choices. He incorporated geothermal energy, solar power, unique insulation techniques, and even accounted for the angle of the sun’s path to maximize energy efficiency year-round.
His mission was clear: to pave the way for the “average Joe” to build a net zero home at the same cost as a standard energy-efficient house. His presentation gave students a real-world example of how engineering, sustainability, and smart design go hand-in-hand. Huge thanks to Mr. Blair for inspiring our future engineers and showing what’s possible with innovation and purpose! 🔧⚡☀️🌍
