Come join the South Side cross country and track teams for our 3rd annual 5K. This sunset fun run will help us all close out the summer and get ready for school to begin. This run will be part cross country trail, part track, and also through our school grounds. There are no public roads or traffic, making it a great run for kids and families. Race will be followed by fun family activities. Visit our race site for more information and to sign up! Or scan the QR code. All proceeds benefit the South Side middle and high school track and cross-country teams. Sponsorship and donation opportunities available as well. South Side Area SD Annual Tractor Day Parade, May 09, 2025
Congratulations to Dominick Lightner and Carter Moore on making it to States next week to compete in the PIAA Championship for Pole Vault. Carter placed 5th in the Pole Vault and Dom won the WPIAL Championship!
Recently, a group of SSHS students participated in the National Academic Quiz Tournament Small School National Championship. Eighty-eight teams from around the country competed in head-to-head knowledge matchups. Our students finished 4 and 6, with a final rank of 52 of 88. While this ranking wasn't enough to get them to the playoffs, we're still proud of their efforts!

The varsity playoff Baseball and Softball games scheduled for today, May 13 have both been postponed and moved to this Thursday, May 15.
The Baseball team plays New Brighton High School with a start time of 3:00pm at Shaler High School. The Softball team plays Leechburg High School with a start time of 5:00pm at Montour High School.
