The South Side Area SD has a Student Assistance Team in each building to help identify and refer students who may have problems related but not limited to absenteeism, academics, interpersonal concerns, adjustment problems, depression, suicide ideation and alcohol and drug abuse. Referrals can be made by teachers, parents, the students themselves, other students or any school personnel. Members of the Student Assistance Team include the building principal, building counselor, school nurse, school psychologist and other building staff members.
