STAFF NOMINATION PROGRAM

Want to thank someone for a job well done? South Side Area SD is pleased to announce a staff recognition program. Please take a moment to complete the form listed below. Your words of thanks will be shared with the employee who has made a difference.

Here are some recent nominations:

Staff member nominated: Laura Chambers

Nominator: Rachael Roberts

“Laura has been not only an amazing teacher, but an incredible person in the community. She has been in communication with us as parents, and such empathy for her students. My child absolutely adores her. I had emergency surgery in September and she was so kind she dropped off meals for us, and helped with my little one at school. She has gone above and beyond for so many and asks nothing in return.”

Staff member nominated: Austin Cornelius

Nominator: Mr. Larry Smith

Nomination: “It was a very nice evening as our family took in the chorus concert. This staff member has not only recaptured the footprint of chorus back into our activities but has also built and mentored valuable friendships through trust and through individual support to his students. The growth of what the participation numbers once were and what they are now is a true testament to the work ethic put forth as well as a trusting atmosphere that he offers our students. As the seniors spoke about this gentle giant, it was such a blessing to know that they value this man as a close friend and appreciate all that he does. OUTSTANDING MR. C!! We as a District are very fortunate to have you here, shining a bright light on chorus and our talented students. Well done!”

Nominator: Mr. John Cornelius from Metro Tours

Nominated Staff: Mrs. Veze, Mrs. Patosky, and Mr. Diehl

Nomination consisted of following:

“My name is John Cornelius and I am a tour guide with Metro Tours. This past weekend I had the privilege of escorting your Marching Band to Washington DC. Not only did they have an outstanding performance at the World War II memorial but they continually impressed me with their quality of character. They represented your school and community in a way that demonstrated the highest quality of respect and behavior. Their actions did not happen by accident, but rather it is the result of a continued environment positive expectations and a culture of learning. The qualities displayed are obviously part of these students' everyday experiences in class and your school environment. Mr. Diehl and his staff should be commended for their continued work with these students and the example they are in these students' lives. Sincerely, John Cornelius”

Student nominating: Lydia Jurcic

Staff nominated:  Tracy Hess

“Mrs. Hess has done nothing but support and encourage her students as well as create a safe and fun environment. She is the reason that I am pursuing art and going to PennWest Edinboro for my education. I would be nowhere near the person I am today if it wasn't for her knowledge and support. I truly only hope for the best for her and I want her to live her best life after she retires.”

Staff nomination from Larry Smith to 3rd Grade Team:

A huge thank you to the district and a special thank you to the 3rd grade staff for your dedicated efforts put towards the talent show. It is rewarding to me to see kids conquer nerves and then shine in their individual moment. It was fun and festive as well as giving kids the opportunity to grow in this type of arena. It was very enjoyable and I just ask that you all keep doing what you do because it really shows how much you all care about this kids and South side. Well done! Grateful for your hard work. Merry Christmas to all of you and yours.
