SSMS offers a comprehensive curriculum to meet the needs of all students.  Our course offerings at each grade level reflect a broad scope of opportunities for students to attain a well-rounded education that focuses on critical thinking and problem solving skills.  All curricular areas are aligned to Pennsylvania State Common Core Academic Standards.  National Standards also are used to align content areas where PA State Common Core Standards have not been developed or finalized.

SSMS functions as three individual grade-level teams.  Each team works in distinctive ways while having the same goal of ensuring your child’s achievement.  Our middle school staff also works diligently to make our inclusion program a model of success. Our exceptional students are educated alongside their peers in a traditional classroom setting known as inclusion.  We are committed to educating every child in the least restrictive environment and working toward the goal of making lifelong learners of each South Side student.
