Subject: Fire Alarm Incident at HS/MS This Morning

Dear South Side Area School District Families,

This morning, the fire alarm at the High School/Middle School was activated due to a dust cloud created by a maintenance team member, which triggered the smoke detectors. Following standard safety protocols, the building was immediately evacuated, and students were relocated to the Elementary School while the fire department responded to assess the situation.

After a thorough inspection, the fire department confirmed that there was no fire, and the building was deemed safe for reentry. Students and staff then returned to the HS/MS, and classes resumed as normal.
