SSASD is a public school, located in Beaver County, in the southwestern corner of Pennsylvania. The district encompasses approximately 76 square miles (200 km2) of a rural community including the six municipalities of Hanover Township, Greene Township, Hookstown, Georgetown, Shippingport, and Frankfort Springs.
The District serves 981 students, employs 96 teachers, has a student-teacher ratio of 10 to 1, and boasts an extensive system-wide curriculum and an impressive variety of extra-curricular activities for students in grades K-12.
South Side’s mission is to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for students to achieve in an ever-changing world by supporting and empowering them through community involvement, teaching excellence and district-wide support and collaboration. The District maintains a tradition of providing students with a superior educational experience.
District boundaries do not include:
Public water, Sewage, Public transportation, Recreational facility, Public library, Shopping center, or Movie theater.
